From First Dates to Family Dinners: Why Every Table Looks Different at Demi’s
Always something to do at Demi's
Ese

Walk into Demi’s on any given day, and you’ll notice something.
No two tables are the same.
One couple is enjoying a quiet date over cocktails and dinner. A family is catching up over jollof rice and soup. Friends are sharing starters before deciding what else to order. A birthday group is filling the room with laughter, while someone else has simply stopped by for a proper lunch before heading back to work.
That is one of the things we love most about Demi’s.
We are a Nigerian restaurant, but more importantly, we are a place where different people create different moments around the same table.

The First Date
First dates can be unpredictable.
You're trying to find somewhere that isn't too formal, but still feels like you've made an effort. Somewhere with good food, comfortable surroundings, and enough atmosphere to keep the conversation flowing naturally.
At Demi’s, first dates often begin with cocktails, a few starters to share, and the simple question:
"Have you ever tried Nigerian food before?"
From there, the evening takes care of itself.
Maybe it's chicken wings and suya to start.
Maybe it's jollof rice, grilled fish, or white rice with ayamase for the main course.
Whatever ends up on the table, sharing good food has a way of making people feel more relaxed.
Sometimes the best conversations happen between bites.
Friends Catching Up
Life gets busy.
Weeks become months, and before you know it, the group chat has been saying "we need to meet up" for far too long.
When everyone finally finds a date that works, the food becomes part of the reunion.
Someone orders peppered snails because they haven't had them in ages.
Someone else insists everyone has to try the suya.
Another friend orders soup and swallow because "I've been craving this all week."
Before long, the table is full, stories are being told, phones are coming out for pictures, and nobody is checking the time anymore.
Sometimes all people need is good food and a reason to sit together again.
Family Time
There is something comforting about seeing generations around one table.
Parents.
Children.
Grandparents.
Brothers.
Sisters.
Everyone ordering something different but somehow sharing everything anyway.
At Demi’s, family meals happen every week.
Sometimes they're planned celebrations.
Sometimes they're simply the decision not to cook at home.
Either way, the result is usually the same.
Good conversation.
Full plates.
And somebody asking if anyone wants the last piece.
Celebrating Life's Wins
Not every celebration needs a huge party.
Sometimes it's passing an exam.
Landing a new job.
Finishing university.
Getting engaged.
Buying your first home.
Or simply making it through a difficult week.
We've watched guests celebrate all kinds of milestones at Demi’s, and every one of them reminds us that restaurants are about more than serving food.
They're places where memories are made.
Where glasses are raised.
Where congratulations are shared.
Where people pause for a few hours and enjoy the moment.
The Regulars
Then there are the people who don't need an occasion.
They already know what they're ordering before they sit down.
They greet the team like old friends.
They bring someone new every now and then, not because they need convincing, but because they want other people to experience one of their favorite places.
Those relationships mean everything to us.
Because becoming someone's regular restaurant is never something you can take for granted.
It is earned one visit at a time.
Every Visit Looks Different
That is what makes Demi’s special.
Some guests come for lunch.
Others come for date night.
Families gather for dinner.
Friends meet after work.
Groups celebrate birthdays.
Music lovers join us for Afro Mic.
Families return on Sundays for our Afro-Caribbean buffet.
Different reasons.
Different people.
Different stories.
But they all have one thing in common.
They gather around good food.
Your Table Is Waiting
However you choose to spend your time, whether you're planning a first date, organizing a family dinner, catching up with friends, celebrating a milestone, or simply treating yourself to a proper Nigerian meal, there will always be a place for you at Demi’s.
Because every table tells a different story.
We'd love yours to be the next one.
